Everyone calls me with their car questions, car advice or problems. I have a knack for sorting things out...turns out I really enjoy it. So here I am…ready to help & ready to serve.

My Grandfather was A Bodyman. Before it was officially a trade they gave a few people in Alberta  (who knew what they were doing) their ticket so others could apprentice off them…Grampa was one of those guys.

I literally grew up in his body shop…so I was always around cars literally  from my childhood. I wanted to be a bodyman like him so I learned all I could and took work experience in a body shop in high school. A veteran took me aside and advised me not ”You don’t see many old bodymen“ he said. He was right…the toxic chemicals sadly cut many lives short…Except my Grandpa…he lived to be 82. 

I’m an avid car collector and I still do a little bodywork, but just small stuff and just for myself.

At 17 I got a job as alot attendant at a Ford store, I moved into sales a short time after that. Once I sold my first car I became hooked and now at 52 I’m what’s called a “lifer” in the car business.

Need renovations on your house? Taxes sorted out? How about tips on planting a garden? Yeah don’t call me…I suck at it…I’m a hard core car guy through and through always and forever.

Back to my career…

After selling cars I went into the service department as a service advisor and then Service Manager at a Cadillac dealer at the age of 24.

At one time in my Career I had wanted to be a General Manager so I decided to learn all the major positions to help me reach my goal.

In my 30’s I was a finance manager for the same dealer I was service manager at. I learned about getting deals approved, lease contracts, finance contracts, how credit works, banks, insurance companies and extended warranties.

I got pretty burned out so I took a break and wholesaled cars for a few years. I specialized in classic cars which to this day is still my passion.

I went back to the car business as an assistant used car manager and then as a used car manager. I loved the firey competition of the auction and I would bid stuff up and drop it on my competitor…I’d look for deals that others over looked and go after they stuff. One time I got fed up with bidding against the wall and stopped the auction as demanded to know who I was bidding against…the auctioneer turned beet red and stuttered something incomprehensible…it never happened again…such great fun. 

I now work as an independent sales trainer for the last 13 years. I like developing sales people and teaching them to sell cars the right way…it’s a lot of fun and very satisfying.

I still have a revolving car collection and really enjoy it.

So in case you didn’t know I love the car business…I’m not one of those “how to beat the car salesman types” if your thinking that your wrong. I love my industry and the special people I’ve worked with past and present…I prefer to built bridges and help people to work with their dealers than fight. I‘m a peacemaker not an antagonist.

If I have one gripe it would be this…I don’t like the rela that the industry has with its customers. Lots of distrust and as a car guy it gets tiresome after a while. Don‘t get me wrong there are some real slime balls in the industry that have tainted things for the 99% of car people that are awesome…they’ve done nothing but make everyones job in the industry more difficult. If you run into one of those call me and I’ll help you. If I can send one message to you it would be this…Our industry is actually full of beautiful amazing people that just want to help and as far as the bad apples and bad actors go…No one has more disgust for these people than the good people of the car business…and that’s a fact.
